Christmas from the Heart is currently No. 9 on Billboard’s Holiday Albums chart. Archuleta is currently promoting the album in an 18-city tour.

Archuleta was the first runner-up in the seventh season of American Idol, losing to David Cook by 12 million votes at the May 2008 finale. However, for much of the season the former Star Search winner and child prodigy was considered the competition's frontrunner, particularly after his moving performance of John Lennon's "Imagine." Simon had called season 7's final David-vs.-David showdown a "total knockout" in Archuleta's favor, and many viewers were surprised when he lost.
